Our course

I have never seen the course so nice this time of year. The spray program has already helped considerably in just the few weeks we have had the capability. We will continue to keep the course in the best condition possible and we look forward to when the grass starts growing again.

Our new sprayer

We recently received our new Toro sprayer and had to learn how to calibrate it and to use it. This sprayer is far more advanced than our last one and is a great asset to the course. We have sprayed the fairways, greens and tees and approaches twice already and it shows. We have the course in some of the best conditions I have seen to date and we are very proud of that. I believe that the new sprayer along with the irrigation system will give us great playing conditions for years to come.

Sanding

We have been sanding heavily over the last week or so. We sanded the greens, tees and apps and some of the bad spots on the fairways. We will continue to sand this week and throughout the fall and winter as long as the weather allows. We will also concentrate on surrounds when we have the chance.

Fusarium

We have some fusarium out on the course. The majority of it is on the large putting green. We have a few small areas out on the course as well. We run a preventative fungicide program which basically means there is almost always protection on our greens from fungus. Every now and again we have what is called push through. Push through just means that it was able to beat out the fungicide that is down for it. We sprayed today and it will take care of the fusarium. We had protection down but.....

I will add a whole section on spraying and why we do it and what type of chemicals we use. I hope to have it up in the next couple weeks.

One Green

One green got a little dry this last weekend. We were surprised by it and have taken remedies to fix it.
