Solid Tine Aeration

In the spring every year we do solid tine aeration because we are not as worried about drainage. Our main goal is to get air and nutrients to the grass roots. Solid tine is the easiest way we aerate right now. We do not have to remove plugs from the greens and can lay sand as soon as we are done punching. It also takes less time to heal from this type of aeration because we are not removing any material. We are essentially just pushing the sod to the side and putting sand in the holes. This allows the sod to return to its original position and does not need as much new growth to cover the holes back over.
